Many of New Jersey hospitals rank among the safest in the nation after years of lower grades during and immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report released Thursday, Nov. 13.

New Jersey ranked third in the nation in percentage of hospitals that received an "A" — the same ranking it received in the spring in the bi-annual report from the Leapfrog Group, a non-profit organization that analyzes safety data.

About 52% of New Jersey hospitals scored an "A" compared to 32% of hospitals nationwide.
