Egor Dёmin spent his first four NBA games shooting exclusively from beyond the arc while Nets coach Jordi Fernández watched patiently.
Now, the eighth overall pick in last June’s NBA Draft is looking more and more comfortable across every inch of the Barclays Center hardwood.
The 6-foot-8 Russian rookie out of Brigham Young University enjoyed his best game as a professional in Downtown Brooklyn on Tuesday, albeit during the Nets’ ninth loss in the first 10 games of this rebuilding campaign.
And Fernández certainly took notice.
“We all believe that he belongs,” the second-year coach gushed after watching Dёmin put up a career-high 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting, including a 4-of-8 effort from 3-point range.
