Central Delhi’s bustling wholesale and retail markets have fallen unusually quiet following Monday’s explosion near the Red Fort, which killed 13 people and injured several others. Many outstation buyers, wary of security concerns, are now opting for online shopping instead of travelling to the capital. Trading activity has been severely hit in key commercial hubs such as Sadar Bazaar and Chandni Chowk — markets that typically witness strong business during the festive and wedding season. “Usually, this is our peak period as traders from other states come to buy items for weddings and winter.
