Gold Canyon Chapter ES, P.E.O. — Philanthropic Educational Organization — raised more than $4,000 selling pecans for scholarships to support education goals for women.

The Gold Canyon chapter meets from September through May with the primary goal of raising money through various fundraising endeavors.

Chapter ES is one of approximately 6,000 chapters across the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception in 1869, PEO has raised more than $430 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans to women throughout the U.S. and internationally.

It also owns and supports Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.

Beyond the state and international fundraising, Chapter ES also raises funds each year for a local high school student to receive a scholarship to attend a college or university of their choice.
