ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Demolition has begun on the former Millennium Hotel site in downtown St. Louis .
“A bold new chapter is underway for Downtown St. Louis,” said Ryan McClure, Executive Director of Gateway Arch Park Foundation. “As we continue our forward momentum for this critical part of downtown, the Foundation remains committed to preserving the history and memories made at this former hotel site to ensure the past remains a meaningful part of the future we are creating together.”
In July, the Gateway Arch Park Foundation officially took control of the high-rise. Before demolishing the towers, they had to address the dangers inside, like asbestos. The foundation estimated it could take two years to clear the site before working with the Cordish Companies to transform
