CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Blue Island man pleaded guilty to battering several people in Chicago and Evanston over the last few weeks, court documents show.

Derek Rucker, 37, was charged with aggravated battery of a transit employee or passenger, aggravated battery in a public place and aggravated battery of a peace officer in the incidents.

Rucker was arrested shortly after hitting a 44-year-old woman in the face, causing her to fall to the ground in the 500-block of North State Street, police said.
