WOODBURN Ore. (KPTV) - The Woodburn City Council has temporarily suspended use of its Flock Safety camera system after community members raised concerns about security and potential federal use of the data.

The license plate reading camera system will be suspended for at least 60 days, the council decided.

City officials said current parameters only allow the Woodburn Police Department and other Oregon law enforcement agencies to use the data.

Police Chief Jason Millican said the Flock Safety camera system has been instrumental in solving violent crimes and vehicle theft cases during the short time the city has used it.
