RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Authorities said a teenager is being charged as an adult after a deadly shooting earlier this week in Richland County.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said 17-year-old Jordan Lemmon is charged with murder, criminal conspiracy and weapon-related counts. RCSD noted Lemmon is being charged as an adult.
Lemmon’s arrest is linked to the Nov. 11 death of 18-year-old Dion Briggs.
RCSD said its investigation found Briggs was trying to buy a gun from Lemmon, who opened fire and shot Briggs.
Deputies responded to the 1700 block of Nearview Avenue at around 7 p.m., where Briggs was reportedly found shot in the upper body. He died at the scene.
The sheriff’s department said Lemmon was later found in Sumter and was arrested after a traffic stop.
