KANNUR: Former Kannur ACP T.K. Rathnakumar, who investigated the death case of ADM Naveen Babu, is contesting as the CPM candidate from the Kottur ward in the Sreekandapuram municipality. Rathnakumar had supervised the investigation when a case was registered against former Kannur District Panchayat President P.P. Divya in connection with Naveen Babu’s death. Naveen Babu’s family had alleged that the probe was biased and that there were irregularities in the investigation. Rathnakumar retired from service soon after the charge sheet in the case was filed.
