Steven Gerrard has been warned he must get his next job right as he continues to be linked with Middlesbrough .
The Championship side are on the hunt for a new head coach after Rob Edwards resigned in order to move to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Boro will receive around £4million in compensation after Edwards only joined them in June on a three-year contract.
However, the 42-year-old appears to have set the club on the right track, but the pull of his former club proved just too strong to resist. The Mirror report Gerrard is claimed to be on a three-man shortlist for the vacancy at the Riverside , along with Carlos Corbera and Tony Mowbray .
Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has been mooted as a potential option too, though Boro are said to face tough competition from Celtic,
