Squeeze dig deep into their songwriting archives for their upcoming album Trixies , a collection of tracks the band wrote in their teenage years well before releasing their 1978 debut album.

For Trixies , Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford journeyed back to their notebooks from when their songwriting partnership first began as teenagers in the mid-1970s, when they penned a series of vignette tracks centered around a fictional nightclub called Trixies.

“The songs that we wrote then astound me. I’m proud of them now, and I’m particularly proud that it was young us that did that. These are very much the same songs that we wrote then,” Tilbrook said in a statement, “The only difference is that now I can teach the songs to the rest of the band.
