Cristiano Ronaldo, one of football’s greatest-ever figures, has officially confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be his final appearance on the sport’s biggest stage. At 40, the Portuguese superstar remains in remarkable shape, but he has now admitted that the next World Cup will mark the end of an era for him and possibly for world football.

Ronaldo Says 2026 Will Be the Last Dance

Speaking at the Tourise Summit in Riyadh, Ronaldo didn’t shy away when asked if the upcoming World Cup would be his final one.

“Definitely, yes,” he said. “I’ll be 41, and I think that will be the moment to bow out from the big competition.”

He clarified earlier comments about retiring 'soon,' explaining that 'soon' meant “probably one or two years” more at the top level.
