CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Queen City’s annual Flying Pig Marathon is a “champion” after a report revealed it generated $45.9 million in economic impact in the 26th-annual race.
More than 51,000 runners got on the starting line to run in the 26.2 mile race or half marathon back in May. Nearly 17,000 of those runners traveled from outside the Greater Cincinnati Area, according to Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
“Each spring, the Flying Pig brings our community together in a way few events can by inspiring health, connection, and local pride while fueling our regional economy,” said Doug Olberding, President & CEO of Pig Works.
