The North Bay Trappers U15 AAA team were the champs of the Kitchener Blue Line Tournament last weekend.
It didn’t start well as the Trappers dropped two one-goal losses and their tournament hopes hung by a thread. The weekend started with a 3-2 loss to the Rochester Coalition followed up by a 1-0 loss to Huron Perth.
The Trappers needed to win to stay alive and they rose up on day two. In their third game, the Trappers faced the Kitchener Rangers, and after trailing 2-1 in the third period found they erupted for four goals to win the game 5-2. In their fourth game the Trappers played a strong team from Syracuse and managed to score a late goal to secure the win and a spot into the playoff round. Article content
