The New York Blood Center continues to face a lack of O-negative blood in particular, but donors of all blood types are in constant demand, particularly with the holidays, when donations can drop off.
Donors of all blood types are needed to help patients, accident and crime victims and new mothers and babies. Information for regular and first-time donors is available at nybc.org . Upcoming drives in the area will include:
• St. Fidelis Church, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, in the Madonna Room at 123-06 14 Ave. in Whitestone;
• Temple Beth Shalom-Flushing, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 171-39 Northern Blvd.;
• FDNY EMS Academy, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, in the auditorium in Building 325 on Pratt Avenue in Fort Totten;
• Queens Crossing mall, 10 a.m
