HOUSTON — An Oklahoma-based underwear company is in a legal dispute with Buc-ee’s over the use of a squirrel logo that the Texas-based convenience store chain says looks too much like its well-known beaver mascot.
According to Buc-ee’s, the design infringes on its trademarked beaver logo. The company has reportedly asked the apparel maker to limit certain elements of its design, including the use of similar colors, hats and any side-profile images.
The underwear company says it owns a trademark of its own and has agreed to make some changes, but the two sides have not reached a compromise.
