WASHINGTON — As Dolly Parton reflects on her nearly seven-decade career and life offstage, the country legend is opening up about love, aging and the recent loss of her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean.
In an interview with People promoting her new book, "Star of the Show: My Life on Stage," Parton looked back on a lifetime of nonstop work and the sacrifices that came with it.
“You know, I have just been going so fast my whole life,” she told the magazine for a cover feature in its November issue. “I really realized when I was putting this book together just how much I had sacrificed in my life. I never had children, so at least I didn’t have a guilty feeling. I’m thankful that I got to see my dreams come true.”
