Will Garrett Wilson play in the Week 11 edition of "Thursday Night Football"?
Wilson's New York Jets are set to meet the New England Patriots on the road in a prime-time divisional matchup on Nov. 13. But New York will have to make do without its No. 1 receiver in Foxborough.
Last week, Wilson re-aggravated a knee injury he had suffered earlier in the season. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Nov. 13 that it's expected to be an issue that keeps Wilson out for several weeks.
In his most recent game against the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 9, Wilson caught zero of his three targets in a day where quarterback Justin Fields completed six of 11 pass attempts.
Here's the latest on Wilson's status for "Thursday Night Football" this week:
Garrett Wilson injury update
The Jets ruled Wilson out on Nov. 12 for their Week 11 game against the Patriots on "Thursday Night Football." The following day, they placed him on IR, meaning he will miss at least four games because of his knee injury.
Wilson had missed New York's two games prior the team's Week 9 bye while dealing with a hyperextended knee injury he sustained in Week 6. His return in Week 10 lasted less than one week, as Wilson re-aggravated his knee in the Jets' Nov. 9 game against the Browns, departing in the second half.
Wilson was a non-participant in practice every day this week. He will now be ineligible to return until the Jets' Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after his IR placement.
ESPN's Rich Cimini reported on Nov. 10 that the Jets' receiver is expected to miss three to four weeks with a knee sprain. His injury will not require surgery.
Garrett Wilson stats
Wilson has played in seven of the Jets' nine games so far this season after missing two and a half games with a knee injury.
- Targets: 59
- Receptions: 36
- Receiving yards: 395
- Touchdowns: 4
Wilson's injury means his streak of three straight seasons with at least 1,0000 receiving yards to begin his career will almost certainly end. Extrapolating his stats to a full season, the wideout would be on pace for fewer than 1,000 yards in 17 games (959), and he's set to end the season having missed five or six games.
