ATLANTA — Georgia Tech celebrated the honorary naming of the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy on Wednesday, recognizing the former president and first lady's decades of commitment to public service and ethical leadership.
The ceremony, held at the newly renovated D.M. Smith Building, marked the first event in the building's auditorium and drew distinguished guests including former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young and former U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn.
"This is a milestone moment for our school," Cassidy Sugimoto, chair of the school, said. "Having the name of the Carters on our school reminds students of why we should be here, the kind of principles that we should espouse as we build pathways to policy careers."
