BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A St. Francisville couple accused of abusing a young girl over several years entered not guilty pleas in court Thursday, November 13, after being arrested on child cruelty charges.

Gretchen Hanchey, 50, was arrested in September for cruelty to juveniles and second-degree battery. Her husband Glenn Hanchey, 48, was arrested on a cruelty to juveniles charge and a count of misdemeanor false imprisonment.

A bill of information formally charging Gretchen states abuse happened between Jan. 1, 2018, and Feb. 26, 2024.

According to a protective order, the victim was a relative of Hanchey’s. The protective order is in place until 2030.
