SALT LAKE CITY — Kahlert Village, a student residence hall at the University of Utah, was on lockdown while police investigated a swatting incident on Wednesday evening.
According to Deputy Chief Safety Officer Scott Carver, a man called the Salt Lake City Police Department, saying he stabbed his girlfriend and threatened to use his rifle on campus if cops didn’t come. Carver said the call was made from a computer, making it harder to track down.
Salt Lake City police then notified University Police at approximately 7:31 p.m., according to U of U Campus Alert .
When police arrived at Kahlert Village , they conducted a thorough search on every floor and cleared the building twice.
