FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek has been nominated to become chairman of the College Football Playoff selection committee to replace Mack Rhoades, according to multiple reports Thursday.
Rhoades stepped down from the committee and took a personal leave of absence from his role as Baylor athletics director Thursday.
Utah athletics director Mark Harlan is being nominated to replace Rhoades as the Big 12's representative on the committee, Yahoo Sports reported. Harlan previously served on the committee in an interim role in 2023.
The nominations of Yurachek as chairman and Harlan to the committee must be approved by the CFP's management committee, ESPN reported.
