Coroner releases name of 8-year-old who died after being struck by vehicle in Boise's North End

BOISE, Idaho — Boise's North End community is mourning this week, after an 8-year-old child was struck and killed by a pickup on Tuesday.

The Ada County Coroner identified the victim as Mora Gerety, aged 8. She was a student at Washington Elementary School in Boise.

As previously reported by KTVB, Gerety was the victim of a pedestrian versus vehicle crash. Boise Police Department (BPD) reports that the crash happened when a driver, later identified as Elvin Ramos-Caballero, and Gerety both entered the intersection at Harrison Boulevard and Ada Street. Both parties were traveling west on Ada Street.

Ramos-Caballero was attempting to turn right onto Harrison Boulevard.

Previous reporting indicates that Ada County Paramedics rushed the victim, Gerety, to a local hospital, where she died
