A Weld Re-8 School District employee at Fort Lupton Middle School is on leave after being named a “person of interest” in an ongoing criminal investigation.
Fort Lupton Police school resource officers were notified on Nov. 5 of an alleged “unlawful contact” between a staff member and a student at Fort Lupton Middle School, the department said in a news release Monday.
The employee was immediately placed on non-disciplinary, paid administrative leave pending further investigation, according to a statement from the school district Monday.
Neither the school district’s statement nor the police department’s news release identified the employee or the nature of the “unlawful contact,” and police said Thursday they won’t release further information as the investigation continues.
