Stephen Curry’s been rewriting NBA history for over a decade, and he’s still not done. On November 12, the 37-year-old dropped 46 points against the San Antonio Spurs, inching closer to a milestone only Michael Jordan has ever reached. This happened after he was hit with the first flagrant foul of his career.
Golden State had dropped five of its last seven games, and stuff looked shaky at halftime. Then came the Curry takeover. The veteran went off for 22 points in the third quarter alone, hitting clutch shots and carrying the team to a much-needed win.
Following the game, Stephen Curry stayed humble about joining the elite company. He said, “That’s pretty good company, for sure.”
With 43 career 40-point games after turning 30, Curry now trails Jordan’s all-time record (44) by just one.
