A federal judge today approved a request by ICE to move one of the nine people it grabbed at the Allston Car Wash earlier this month to a women's lockup in South Burlington, VT, because it has "bed space for her," unlike its Burlington, MA hole, where she's being kept now, even though it has no beds or medical facilities.
In an order, US District Court Judge Richard Stearns wrote:
As the transfer is unopposed by Petitioner Clarisa Aguilon, and as the government agrees that this court retains jurisdiction over the matter, the government is free, at its earliest convenience, to move Aguilon from Burlington, Massachusetts Holding Room to the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington, Vermont, where there is bed space for her.
Aguilon is a Guatemalan native.
