Minisink Valley senior Ella Michelitch is very organized and kept a meticulous notebook with detailed information about each Division I school that she visited.
The info came in handy, but what played, perhaps, the biggest factor in her decision was the feeling she experienced when she visited the University of Oklahoma.
“I loved the coach (James Thomas) and I fell in love with the campus,” said Michelitch, a two-time state and national high jump champion. “The way the coach and the team welcomed me was amazing. I looked around and I could see myself at Oklahoma.”
Michelitch verbally committed to Oklahoma on Monday and signed her national letter of intent on Tuesday, on national signing day. Her teammate, pole vaulter Delila Kronimus, has committed to compete at Division I Towson State.
