Toronto Police brass appear to be confused.

Instead of coming down like a ton of bricks on dangerous car thieves, they’re hanging a cop who stopped them out to dry.

Cops say that on Jan. 8, around 4:33 p.m. in Rexdale, Const. Paolo Deluca, 33, was engaged in the high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle through residential streets, culminating in a heroic takedown.

In a news release, the Toronto Police Service said that Deluca allegedly “drove at speeds exceeding the posted residential speed limit; the officer failed to stop at multiple controlled intersections; during the pursuit, and the officer collided with another scout car responding to the incident.”
