BAXLEY, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Baxley will celebrate its milestone 150th anniversary this weekend with live entertainment, food and plenty of activities.
The sesquicentennial celebration takes place Saturday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Baxley.
The free, family-friendly celebration includes live entertainment, children’s activities, historical exhibits and live music.
Mayor Tim Varnadore will give a welcome address at 6:45 p.m., followed by a community-wide moment when the crowd will shout “Happy Birthday, Baxley!” as confetti fills the air. The Swingin’ Medallions, known for yearly performances at the Tree Fest, will take the stage afterward.
City leadership says the celebration highlights hometown pride and the strong sense of community that makes Baxley special.
