The mother of Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton has issued a statement in response to murder charges filed against their father, John Skelton, nearly 15 years after their disappearance in Morenci.

In the statement, Tanya Zuvers calls the issuing of charges "a significant moment in a long and painful journey."

“I ask that my family’s privacy be respected as we process this news and continue to grieve the loss of Andrew, Alexander and Tanner," Zuvers wrote. “I want to express my gratitude to the law enforcement agencies and prosecutors who have worked tirelessly over the years to seek justice for my sons.
