Following the announcement of his pending retirement, a few of the key dates in Rick George’s tenure as the athletic director at Colorado.

George is named the sixth full-time AD in Colorado history. George succeeded Mike Bohn, who was forced to resign the previous May (Ceal Barry served as interim AD for about six weeks). George’s 13-year tenure (when he officially steps down) will be the third-longest among CU athletic directors, trailing the Buffs’ first AD Harry Carlson (1927-65) and Eddie Crowder (1965-84).
