With less than 3 minutes left in a Nov. 7 game against Air Force , South Dakota guard Tori Schlagel walked to the free throw line.

By that point, it wasn't a close game. South Dakota led by 19, up 65-46 over Air Force. But with two shots, Schlagel, a freshman from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, had a chance to bring her team's total score to – well, maybe you've already figured it out.

"If she hits them both, this place might go real nuts," Midco Sports announcer Jay Elsen said during the game's broadcast, anticipating what was about to happen.

Elsen's counterpart, Brad Newitt , was quick to point out there were about 1,000 elementary and middle school students from the Vermillion area in the crowd.
