LINCOLNTON, N.C. — The Lincolnton Police Department said a juvenile died days after being shot while reportedly trying to break into cars earlier this week.
In a news release shared on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, officers said they responded to a reported shooting along Huss Street just before 2 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10. Police said they learned two juvenile males were in the area, allegedly committing the break-ins.
At some point, both of the juveniles were confronted in a resident's backyard. That resident shot one of them, and the juvenile was taken to a hospital. However, the juvenile died of his injuries a few days later.
Lincolnton Police said that charges have not been filed as of publication. The investigation remains ongoing.
