Delaware lawmakers returned to Legislative Hall Nov. 13 to patch an unexpected $400 million shortfall in the state budget tied to federal changes in the "Big Beautiful Bill."
Legislators had to reconvene in extraordinary session to pass a bill to keep that funding level, while protecting the state’s financial security.
This bill – which would separate, or “decouple,” parts of state tax code from the federal tax breaks – passed. And it must now make its way to the Senate, likely next week.
