LAURENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Baptist Ministries of Aging confirmed plans to divest two retirement communities.

At the annual meeting of the SC Baptist Convention, SCBMA received approval to create a committee to oversee the ownership transition of Martha Franks in Laurens and Bethea in Darlington.

SCBMA said the decision was determined to be “the most faithful step forward” when faced with challenges like a growing senior population, rising operational costs, and greater reliance on government funding.
