COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A special event was held in Newberry County on Thursday, where Newberry Health celebrated 100 years strong.

Hospital staff and community leaders gathered for the centennial celebration.

Since 1925, the hospital has been in the Newberry community, beginning from a 25-bed hospital to a modern health system serving the entire county.

“It is so very special,” said John Snow, CEO of Newberry Health. “We have such a wonderful cast of caring staff here and physicians, and volunteers who come to work every day to do the very best they can for our patients and our community. I couldn’t be prouder of the work this hospital’s done.”

Over the years, Newberry Health continued to grow, evolve, and expand, with specialty centers, clinics, and community programs.
