Homicide detectives have charged a 20-year-old Edmonton man in connection with the shooting death of a 42-year-old man in central Edmonton last month.

On Oct. 8, at roughly 8:50 p.m., downtown patrol officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 107 Avenue and 109 Street, said police in a Thursday news release.

Officers located an injured man outside of a home and began life-saving measures, but the man died on scene.

On Oct. 9, an autopsy was completed by the Edmonton medical examiner’s office, and determined that Andrew Donald McCabe, 42, died of a gunshot wound, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Investigators called out to anyone who may have had camera footage around 109 Street and 107 Avenue between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the night of the shooting.
