LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - It was a regular season finale that came down to the wire Friday night. After tying the game up at 14, Vinton trailed late in the fourth quarter following a DeQuincy field goal. But with under a minute left in the game, Lions quarterback Michael Lange found paydirt securing the victory for Vinton.

“My heart was racing but you know, we kept it together,” said Lange. “And I was really excited about it, but I had to keep composure. My guys needed me.”

That touchdown sealed the Lion’s first win in the Big Cat Classic since 2017. Not to mention, the program being crowned district champions for the first time since 2006.
