A 30-year-old man was stabbed several times while sitting parked in his car in San Diego's San Ysidro neighborhood and the suspect was at large, authorities reported Thursday.

Around 2:50 a.m. Thursday, the suspect, described as a man in his 50s, approached the victim's vehicle without "provocation" and began stabbing him in the face and arm in a parking lot at 444 E. San Ysidro Blvd, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the victim was able to get away, while the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. His name has not yet been released.

The suspect was described as a man with a beard, wearing glasses and dressed in gray clothing.

No arrests have been made,
