Staff at a popular Indian restaurant in Glasgow have been left "heartbroken" after two thieves ransacked their venue while the owners were in hospital. ‌

On Friday, November 7, Obsession of India on High Street, in the Trongate area, was targeted at around 3.16am by two intruders who forced their way into the family-run restaurant and swiped cash from the till and tip jar before stealing alcohol from the bar. ‌

The hoods entered the premises through the side shutter and fire exit door and during their efforts, the unit's internal communication system was damaged - which staff say is "essential" for running the business. ‌

The break-in was only discovered hours later at around 11.30am when they arrived to open.
