A firefighter from Delaware was out on the job when he learned his own house was hit by lightning and then destroyed by a fire.

The lightning struck on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the home of John LeCompte and his family in Camden, Delaware.

His wife and children were able to make it out of the burning home safely, but their house was destroyed.
