It was 75 years ago that Hillcrest Elementary – located on a hilltop on Liberty Hill Road – opened its doors and welcomed its first class of students.
A lot has changed in Morristown, the United States and the world since that day in 1950.
And a lot has changed in education in those 75 years as well.
What hasn’t changed? The mission of educating every child who steps through those doors
What hasn’t changed? The passion of educators to do their best for their students every day.
What hasn’t changed? The love Hillcrest’s family has for those put in their charge.
Now, the school is going to celebrate that family and a three-quarters-of-a-century legacy of education with a 75-year celebration program at the school on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
