WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - They say not to play with your food, but that’s clearly not the case at Jefferson Community College in Watertown for the 18th annual Spaghetti Bridge Competition.
“Teams get a box of spaghetti, a hot glue gun with like 6 or 7 of the hot glue sticks, and then they have to put a pencil through the middle of it, and then we hang a weight on the - or we hang a scale on the pencil,” said JCC Engineering Club President Ethan O’Brien.
The competition drew 14 teams from nearby high schools and middle schools. The goal is to get students interested in science, technology, engineering and math.
