New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (5) warms up during an NFL Week 10 game between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.

The New York Jets don't have much to root for this season, and that is only going to continue with the latest news involving one of their players.

Garrett Wilson, their standout wide receiver, will at least miss the next four games as the Jets put him on the injured reserve. Wilson, in his fourth season out of Ohio State, has been one of the few bright spots for a franchise that hasn't made the postseason in almost two decades. He went in the first round of the 2022 draft as the 10th overall selection for the Jets.

In his first three years on a disjointed Jets squad, he accrued 1,000-plus receiving yards during each regular season. When the team was at its lowest, they at least had Wilson, who was one of the few game-breaking players on the hapless New York roster.

Although he had already missed a chunk of the season due to injury, Wilson put up numbers whenever he was available. At the trade deadline, he was seen as one of, if not the only, untouchable player for the Jets.

He reinjured the knee that kept him out for a month earlier in the season and will now be out at least another four weeks. As the Jets sit far outside the playoff picture and have already turned the page to 2026, the pressing question for the front office and fans will be who will be throwing the ball to Wilson when next year's campaign begins.
