Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket launched from Cape Canaveral and reached space successfully. But the bigger story is that its booster rocket separated from the upper stage and came back to Earth and safely landed on a barge in the Atlantic Ocean. This is a major feat for the Jeff Bezos-backed company in its quest to compete with Elon Musk's SpaceX. Only SpaceX has been able to land a booster vertically after launching it toward orbit.
