Arapahoe County man accused of killing his wife waited hours to call 911

The man accused of shooting and killing his wife in Arapahoe County last month waited hours to call 911, according to court documents.

David O’Grady, 37, called 911 just after 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 7. He told dispatchers that he was cleaning his gun when he accidentally shot his wife in the chest, and that he attempted CPR for roughly an hour before calling the police, according to his arrest affidavit.

When Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies arrived in the 5200 block of Shawnee Way, O’Grady told them his wife had been dead for several hours, according to the document.

The coroner’s office identified the victim as 29-year-old Taylor Last .
