EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Vanderburgh County officials have unveiled a new therapeutic work release litter patrol van as part of their Clean Streets Initiative.
The program is staffed by work release participants and those ordered to complete community service hours.
Sheriff Noah Robinson explained the van's operational details.
"This van will operate at least five days a week transporting up to 16 people at a time going out and doing trash pickup on Vanderburgh County and Evansville city roads, including state highways," Robinson said.
Organizers credited the initiative's support to the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District, the Vanderburgh County and Evansville City Council, Republic Services, the County Commissioners, and the Mayor's Office.
