DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services says it will issue full SNAP benefits for the month of November.
The announcement comes after President Donald Trump signed a funding bill to end the longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history. The shutdown halted SNAP benefits for about 42 million people nationwide.

The bill Trump signed includes funding for SNAP through September of next year.
Iowa HHS says benefits are being loaded onto cards and could be available as soon as Thursday. The department anticipates all benefits will be issued by Friday.
