GRAND CANYON, AZ (AZFamily) — The Grand Canyon’s historic North Rim will be closing for the season, just over a month after part of the park reopened following the devastating Dragon Bravo Fire.
National park officials say the North Rim will shut down to all visitors beginning Friday, Nov. 14, at 5:20 p.m. Previously, the North Rim reopened some viewpoints to visitors, but winter weather and snowfall beginning this weekend are expected to cause disruptions to traffic and work in areas still recovering from the Dragon Bravo Fire.
This summer, the Dragon Bravo Fire destroyed a historic lodge and more than 100 structures on the North Rim, forcing officials to close access to that area for much of the season.
