DEDHAM, Mass. —
More than a month after Brian Walshe was ordered to undergo a competency evaluation, the case is scheduled to return to court on Friday, where a judge could decide if he is fit to stand trial for murder.
The Cohasset father is accused of killing and dismembering his wife, 39-year-old Ana Walshe, around New Year's Day in 2023. He faces charges of murder, misleading a police investigation and improper conveyance of a human body.
Judge Diane Freniere initially ordered a 20-day examination at Bridgewater State Hospital in October. The evaluation period was later extended.
According to the case records, a hearing on Walshe's competency is scheduled for Friday morning. If the judge allows the case to proceed as scheduled, a final pre-trial conference would be held on Monday
